Mission & Objectives

The Vision

The involvement of alumni in supporting and providing contributions voluntarily to Kibuli Secondary School is important for maintaining and expanding the school’s development. By establishing channels that can facilitate closer ties between the alumni, students and the school, it can provide crucial benefits in enriching the student’s experience while being at the school. Every alumni has experienced being a student to positively becoming a unique and different person. Hence, there is potential for all alumni to contribute to the school in different ways and scale.

Our Vision is: We strive to be an Association that benefits its members in various ways and that is relevant to the success of Kibuli Secondary School and the Community.

Our Mission

The Mission of the Kibuli S. S. Old Students' Association (KOSA) is: We strive to Build, Maintain and Strengthen lifelong intellectual, professional, and personal connections among Kibuli SS Alumni, to strengthen the link between the alumni and their alma mater and to serve the community.

Our Alumni Association works to transition current students into engaged alumni and help alumni to build deeper connections to the school and benefit from the skills and experience of one another.

Other objectives

These are the objectives as stipulated in the Articles of Association and the Constitution that govern the Association:

Togetherness

To bring together all former students of Kibuli Secondary School, in an association for social intercourse and development of the School. This can be achieved through increasing the number of active alumni, renew old friendships, and create new ones.

Giving Back

To render material, financial, spiritual and other assistance to the school.

Developing Kibuli

To rehabilitate the School to the very highest standards and to continuously develop and maintain it, for the benefit of students and staff, for the time being and for the benefit of the issues of the members of the association.

Promoting Kibuli Culture

To promote the academic, sporting, economic, social, and cultural legacy of the school in its effort to educate the people of Uganda.

Representation

To be represented on the Board of Governors and Parents Teachers Association of the School.

Building Solidarity

To revive the spirit of togetherness which once bound the members at the School.

Mentorships

To instill a sense of pride, self-discipline, self-help and cooperation, wherever and whatever the present circumstances of former students.

Scholarship Fund

To create a scholarship fund to help deserving and needy students.

To achieve the objectives the association shall;
  1. Work closely with the School and shall be represented on the Board of Governors and Parents Teachers Association of the School.
  2. Initiate self-help projects for the betterment of the School and its alumni.
  3. Acquire such assets as may be necessary for the smooth running of the Association.
  4. Raise funds by seeking contributions from members of the association and donations from any other person or organization.
  5. For the better carrying out of its function of fostering a sense of togetherness and pride amongst the members of the Association, the Association in conjunction with the management of the School, shall organize the following events annually;
    1. A dinner for all members of the Association in the 3rd week of December.
    2. A sports gala at the school involving the members of the Association and the staff and students of the School.

Our Values

At KOSA, our values are part of who we are, what we stand for, and how we act.

Shared by all our members worldwide regardless of role or time they left Kibuli Secondary School, our values have both guided and united us since our start. They are the foundation of our culture, integrated into our way of working – from our solidarity spirit and long-term perspective to our constant drive to keep all old students at the heart of everything we do.
